Koenig to run for the State Legislature in the 69th District

ERLANGER- Kenton County Commissioner Adam Koenig announces his intention to run for State Representative in 69th Legislative District. The Erlanger Republican feels his 8 years on the Kenton County Fiscal Court and 3 years on City Council make him uniquely qualified.

“I have always been interested in State issues, and being a State Representative has always been a desire of mine” said Koenig. “I want to put my 11 years of experience in local government to use for the citizens of the 69th District and all of Northern Kentucky. I believe that I represent the conservative beliefs of the 69th district.”

Koenig went on to say that he looks forward to working in support of local governments, increasing Northern Kentucky’s share of tax money that is returned to the area, and supporting conservative principles such as pro-life legislation and 2nd amendment rights.

Koenig spoke with both the local party and the State Party about this seat. He made up his mind over the weekend.

The 69th District covers 3 counties. 80% of the population resides in Kenton County, 11% in Campbell and 9% in Boone. The areas in Kenton are all of Erlanger and Elsmere, 2 precincts in Independence, part of Nicholson, the Bracht, Piner and Morningview precincts in Southern Kenton County. The two precincts in Campbell are Grants Lick and Claryville. The two precincts in Boone are Richwood and Kensington.
